MEET JASMINE ROSS
I’m Jasmine Ross, founder of COCO Consulting. My journey began in Haiti, where I was born, but in 2001, my life transformed when I was adopted and brought to America. This transition opened a world of opportunities and experiences that shaped my future.
From a young age, I was deeply influenced by the spirit of activism that surrounded me. My adoptive mother, an inspiring figure in my life, is dedicated to fostering social change. I vividly remember her engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds, attending conferences, and championing causes like women’s rights and racial equity. These experiences ignited a passion in me for advocating justice and equality, especially for marginalized communities.
As I grew older, I recognized a critical issue in our society: the need for criminal justice reform. I became passionate about ensuring that those impacted by the system not only receive the support they need but also that their voices are heard through the act of voting.
My passion for bringing strategies, tools, and resources to organizations that are working to reform the criminal legal system was forged in my 7 years with the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition (CCJRC), The Sentencing Project, Public Welfare Foundation, and Colorado Civic Engagement Roundtable.
My work with over 2,000 justice-involved individuals has provided me with deep insights into the challenges faced by marginalized groups. This experience ensures I approach every project with empathy and a keen understanding of community needs. The results I achieved over the years demonstrate a clear pathway to success, and I am passionate about sharing these insights with the community.
